Ennyiért dobta piacra ugyanis a Nordstrom a műsárral összekoszolt farmert.

A cég 425 dollárért (körülbelül 120 ezer forintért) árulja a hamis sárral bekoszolt farmert.

#Nordstrom is crazy for selling these muddy jeans, or even making these muddy jeans. #muddyjeans

Nem ez az első furcsa dobása a cégnek: korábban egy bőrzsebbe bújtatott kavicsot árultak 85 dollárért. A kő egyébként most nem kapható, mivel megállás nélkül rendelik a vásárlók.

Yeah, yeah we all had a good chuckle over seeing this thing. Is this my personal taste? Not really, but it's still #art and valuable to the people who appreciate it. (And obviously enough people liked this enough to order it) I read more about the company @madesolidinla that's behind this #handmade item (http://madesolidinla.com/about/), and I now get why it's $85. The #makers are Los Angeles-based #artists who use traditional saddle making techniques to create unique pieces. Making things yourself is usually NOT cost effective compared to buying store bought products. Now that I sew, I feel this firsthand. You pay for learning skills, materials, equipment, and overhead if you have a physical storefront or creative space. Not to mention the biggest factor - TIME. It sucks up SO MUCH time making. #Leather is a difficult material to work with, because mistakes can't be taken out. If you stitch in the wrong spot, there is a permanent hole in the hide. Producing goods in the United States is also exponentially more expensive than overseas. I noticed most of the items on #MadeSolid website are pricier than the #leatherrock - the tote bags are over $700. For this company, $85 IS one of the least expensive offerings they have. I know not everyone can afford handmade, but that's the reality of the business and you cannot expect artists/makers to charge Walmart prices. I've been asked many times to make someone a quilt, but I would have to charge in the thousands to make it feasible economically. (Would you pay $3,000-$10,000 for a quilt?) People probably think I'm crazy, but if you are in that camp - I'd encourage you to research what it would take to make some of your things by hand. You'll see what I'm talking about... I do applaud #Nordstrom for stocking handmade items in their stable and (yes, I'm saying this) would welcome more products like the #leathercoveredrock. They also got a LOT of free publicity out of the deal from you and me talking about it. #sewingreport #rant #defendingthenordstromrock #leathergoods #craftsmanship #sewingvlogger
